A few weeks ago, Ashleigh at Sewrella created a super cute quick and easy ice cream coozie using on of my FAVORITE yarns, Lion Brand Fast Track.
I made some market totes with the yarn earlier this year and have been looking for something to do with the scraps.
I took her pattern of a solid ice cream coozie and made it my own by changing colors to create stripes and adding a rose to make it pretty. And this is how she came out. 😍
My aunt fell in LOVE with my coozie too and said I should make some for the Ocean City, NJ Block Party this fall. She always has a space where she sells little pretties she’s made. I’ve brought different things over the years for her to sell there and usually have made a few dollars. She thinks they will sell big and if I have extra I can list them on Etsy or sell them at craft shows myself. I usuallly participate in one or two around the holidays. I also sell handmade items in the faculty room at the school where I work. Teachers LOVE cash and carry.
My aunt said all of them should have some kind of embellishment. I want to try out some different ones with this yarn and possibly Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton (I have gradually bought that in every color) if the FT ones are just too bulky/heavy. I’m going to toy with an emoji, since those are so popular, as well as flowers, hearts, and any other appliqués I can make with the colors available. I ordered FT in all 12 colors from JoAnn’s since they were on sale. 🙈
Ideas for color combos and appliqués are more than welcome!
Love,
Joey
